Statistical Process Control

Lorraine Press emphasizes statistical process control (SPC) in all its departments. SPC is the art and science of measuring and controlling variables throughout a manufacturing process. We have found it to be the only way to achieve dependable and repeatable results in prepress, printing, and bindery.

We closely monitor and evaluate mechanical, chemical, and physical variables to enable us to create consistent, repeatable high quality printing. We collect and analyze data about our printing processes and apply it effectively to obtain accuracy and precision in our work.

Included with SPC are our maintenance programs at Lorraine Press, which are designed to keep all of our machines running in peak condition. Well-maintained machines give us the predictable results we require for our standards of excellence. It also minimizes waste and gives us safer working conditions.
